Vision

Imagine a school guided by the words of the master teacher, Jesus of Nazareth. Teachers and staff see every student as a unique individual, fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God. Teachers believe all children have the desire and ability to learn. They take seriously their obligation to help each child discover his or her purpose in life. This is our vision for Laurel Community School.

At Laurel, we expose our students to what Charlotte Mason referred to as the three types of knowledge most suitable for children: knowledge of God, knowledge of man, and knowledge of the universe. This knowledge will equip them to use their abilities to fulfill their God-given purpose. We strive to nurture hearts and minds in a way that grows our students into engaged, thoughtful, and responsible members of society.

We hope to give our students a preview of the eternal Kingdom where people of every tribe, nation, and tongue will join to worship Christ, the King. With that goal in mind, we use our best efforts to maintain a student body representing the Twin Cities' demographic makeup.

"After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb" Revelation 7:9
